CSVerify v0.4 DOC FILE
═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
About CSVerify
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
CSVerify is not your ORDINARY Call-Back Verifier! I as well as many
other sysops feel that CALLING BACK a user is not neccesary.. Why do you
need to know where they are calling from. All you should be worried about is
that they subscribe right?.. That is why I created CSVerify... CSVerify is
Equipped with two modes, Normal, and CID (Caller I.D.) Mode. If you don't
have Caller I.D. then you should not use CID mode... Both Modes do not even
Require a modem.. The reason is that CSVerify does not dial out. It uses
information the users entered when they first logged on to verify them..
DISCLAIMMER - READ THIS!!
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Jason Curtis -OR- any Employee of CompuSoft Technologies may NOT
be held responsible for any Damage caused by this PPE. By DOWNLOADING this
PPE and reading this DOC FILE you agree to not hold JASON CURTIS -OR- any
CompuSoft Technologies employee responsible for any damage caused by this
PPE. This Program is distrubuted AS-IS!!
INSTALLATION
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
This PPE can be installed in two places depending on what type of
Access you want the users to have to it.. If you want the users to be able
to go into the verifier as much as they want (Not Recomended!!!) then you
should install the PPE in the CMD.LST. You should add a line that looks some-
thing like this:
CHARGES PER PPE\MNU File Specification -or-
COMMAND SEC Minute Use KeyStroke Substition
════════════ ═════ ════════════════ ═══════════════════════════════════════
VERIFY 20 0 0 C:\PCB\PPE\VERIFY\VERIFY.PPE
But the suggested way is to put it in your new user logon script in
PCBSetup.. at the dos prompt type PCBSETUP.EXE. This will take you into
PCBSetup.... Next hit [B] then [D]. Now hit the down arrow twice you will
be at a prompt that looks something like this:
Name\Loc of New Reg. Questionarrie:
In this prompt there should be the path and file name of extra
questions to ask a new user. if there is not one enter one.. Now hit [F2] or
[F3] depending on weather you are editting the ASCII or the ANSI file.
Goto the end of the file (If you just created the file, Stay were you are)..
TYPE:
![PATH TO PPE]\VERIFY.PPE
Save the file and exit the editor.. You Should return back to PCBSetup.
Hit [ESC] 3 times. Answer 'Q' to the question and your done with adding it to
PCBoard. Now you have to edit the CFG file.. The Line Definitions are in the
file so I will not say anything in the doc file..
OPTIONS
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
CSVerify has two different modes available to use.. The First
is Normal mode. Normal mode asks the new user for 4 pieces of information they
entered when they first logged on.. First it asks them for there name (pretty
easy), Then it asks them for there home phone number.. Next it asks for there
Business phone..and finally there logon password. Then all this information
is compared with the information they entered when they first logged onto the
BBS.. The Second mode is CID -or- Caller I.D. Mode.. This mode only asks
for there PASSWORD.. Then it gets there Name and Phone Number from Caller I.D..
Now It compares there name on the BBS with the name from CID, The CID phone
Number with both there home and business phones. If the home phone fails it
compares the CID phone with the Business phone.. Then Lastly it compares
the Passwords.. In both modes if any of these comparisons fail then there access
level is NOT raised and they sent to the BBS.. If they pass the comparisons
then there security level IS raised and they sent to the BBS with there new
Security level..
***ATTENSION***
The Called I.D. Mode has not been tested.. I would appreciate it if
you would sign up to be a CSVerify Beta tester.. You must have the
"I want to Beta Test CSVerify" marked in the REGISTER.FRM file and you must
be a registered user of CSVerify (any version)..
